Ambassador of the brand
Münsters Restaurant in Leipzig in East Germany.
Gault & Millau rating: 14 points.
André Münster is 43 years old and was born in Leipzig. Leipzig seemed only the natural choice when setting up his business. In July 2012, he launched “Münsters” restaurant in an old mill in the Gohlis area, following the success of “Drogerie”, another of his restaurants which was reputed as among the finest in Leipzig, though no longer in operation.
What kind of restaurant is it?
Our restaurant is international in style, with an important seasonal influence. To prove the point, together with my young chef Stephan Kujath, we make sure we change the menu regularly, every couple of days even. At Münsters, wine and Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte are also poured by the glass.
What is your favourite Champagne?
Champagne Rosé. It reminds me of the first time I tasted wild strawberries.
And the origins of your passion?
My love of cooking and wine has been heavily influenced by my parents, though not restaurateurs themselves.
