According to a survey carried out by Greenpeace in 2009, renowned mobile phone giant Nokia leads the field in terms of eco-responsible companies. It has set itself the task of collecting used mobile phones in 84 countries, with around 5,000 collection points worldwide. In Helsinki, IT company Academica has built a 5,000m2 complex with the aim of conducting and recycling heat from its data centre. With its high-performance cooling system, excess heat from the servers is redirected to provide heat and warm water for thousands of apartments. And it doesn’t stop with technology…
