Tetra Pak, Stieg Larsson…
a star-studded land!
In Sweden, stars are everywhere, each with their latest revolutionary invention. And the Tetra Pak company is a shining example, producing the famous aseptic food packaging used for milk and fruit juice. The product has become the pinnacle of sustainable development as not only are the packs recyclable, but Tetra Pak has also been linked to the WWF since 2005 through a variety of objectives, including using only certified wood fibre in its packaging, reducing CO2 emissions, using renewable energy resources and promoting the Tetra Pak for ecological use.
And there is also Alfred Nobel, whose museum was opened in 2001 to mark the centenary of the Peace Prize, and dedicated to the memory of the Nobel laureates. Modern design is very much at the forefront also, at Ericsson of course, where functionality meets technology, at Saab and Volvo in terms of car design.
And moving to literature, Stieg Larsson immediately comes to mind as the author of the Millenium Trilogy, selling over 50 million copies; and cinema, to a whole host of A-listers such as Ingmar and Ingrid Bergman, Daniel Espinosa, actors Max von Sydow and Alexander Skarsgard - the face of Calvin Klein, or the divine Greta Garbo. And finally, on a more sporting front, who could forget Bjorn Borg or more recently Robin Soderling, not to mention incomparable footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
