Michel Chabran’s imagination is well known. A true professional, he has transformed his family hotel, just off the French N7, into a true beacon of gourmet cuisine. His cooking style draws on established rustic fare and he knows how to glorify regional ingredients like no other, using, for example, truffles from the Drôme, roast guinea fowl and delicious veal sweetbreads…. This year’s new projects are even more mind-blowing. After constructing a ‘gourmet shed’ in his stunning tree-lined garden to showcase his selection of home-made delicacies, including jams, honey and foie gras, in true ‘Chabran style’, he has also launched ‘express lunches’ near the shed, offering Spanish charcuterie, fritters, Cap Ferret oysters wrapped in Jabugo ham and summer truffle ravioli, perfect fare for a delicious, rural treat that won’t break the bank. But the top attraction remains his ‘drive-in’, a much swisher version of the usual dismal fast food joint. And at Chabran, order by phone or online, and within 60 minutes tops, a vibrant, mouth-watering basket awaits, packed to the brim with Chabran’s signature creations: salmon starter, delicious maki sushi, perfectly cooked langoustines and prize-winning pastries – a complete lunch collected by car for a four-star feast in the comfort of your own home.
