2008 Collection Vintage Blanc de Blancs

2008 is regarded as a great vintage in Champagne.

The coldest season of the century so far, it was conducive to producing the aromatic precursors which ultimately shaped the aromatic complexity of this Champagne.

While a complicated year from a weather perspective, unseasonably dry and sunny conditions in the first two weeks of September ensured perfectly healthy and highly concentrated grapes were picked at perfect ripeness.

60 crus make up the blend of this 100% chardonnay Champagne. The grapes are sourced essentially from the areas of Côte des Blancs, Sézannais, Montgueux and Montagne de Reims. The chardonnay imparts remarkable freshness and elegance to the Champagne.

Aged for at least 6 years in the cellars.

The Chief Winemaker adapts dosage levels to each Champagne in order to enhance its flavours and aromas. The choice of reserve wine is crucial and takes into consideration a whole range of factors, including the proportion of cru wines, year of harvest, grape varieties, and vinification and ageing methods, in order to guarantee the intrinsic style of each Champagne.

The 2008 Collection Vintage Blanc de Blancs is elegant, refined and graceful. The depth and dynamism of the vintage creates a Champagne of greater soul. All the subtlety and aromatic complexity of chardonnay are showcased in this Champagne, offering a wonderful blend of delicacy and delicious full flavour. Effusing pure, exquisite fragrances of dried flowers and pastry notes, the 2008 vintage releases its aromas with refreshingly, crisp charm, and is deliciously soft and medium-bodied on the palate. The ideal partner to a range of subtle pairings to be enjoyed for pre-dinner drinks, or to accompany a meal.
