Champagne on the seas!

Nicolas Feuillatte, partners the new carbon neutral transatlantic trade route

In August 2017 La Rochelle saw the launch of the first oil-free, transatlantic trade route, and the first eco-sailing line between Europe and North America.

With its sense of adventure and free spirit, Nicolas Feuillatte was a keen and obvious partner and loaded its precious cargo aboard the Avontuur, a schooner built in 1920 and renovated in 2016.

The sailing ship, now equipped with solar panels and wind power, connects La Rochelle in France with Montreal in Canada, and Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne proudly embarked on this magnificent 50-day sea crossing.

Naturally rooted in the soil, Nicolas Feuillatte has for many years focused on an ethical approach and on collective progress, which strikes a distinctive chord with Portfranc’s environmental project. A great initiative whose values resonate deeply with those defended so vehemently by Nicolas Feuillatte.
